Despite living in Eagle Harbour surrounded by trees and close to the beach, we still love spending a little time at Van Dusen Gardens. Having year round access to this incredible place is such a great thing. It feels like a private club (sans tennis courts) complete with licensed patio and 55 acres of botanical gardens all for about $100/year for the entire family. Every time we go it feels like an investment in well being. Daddy was also shooting some footage of the forgotten Forest Education Centre found within the property. We’re going to be working with Van Dusen and the Parks Board to see if we can come up with a plan to help reignite this incredible facility. Send ideas in the comments section!

Lighthouse Park
Just going through some older photos and this series caught my eye. As we approach summer you can feel the chill in these photos taken at Lighthouse Park in December of last year. All seasons are beautiful if you know where to go!
Larson Bay
Another secret beach in West Van discovered by Jody! Accessible just below Gleneagles golf course, a perfect spot for a picnic.
Capilano River Facility
Always worth a trip, rain or shine.
Mobile Friendly
Welcome to the new look! We’re updating the WordPress theme to a mobile friendly format. If you check this site on your smart phone you will see a streamline format that makes it easy to read on any device (iPhones, iPads etc). We’ll be tweaking colours and details so stay tuned. Here’a lovely iPhone pic captured by Charlotte’s camping buddy Dan. More to follow!
Van Dusen
We’ve become official members of Van Dusen Gardens up on Oak at 37th. We’ve been going there on Fridays after work these warm summer nights and have found it a great way to decompress after 40 hours of working with technology. Charlotte really loves it and we highly recommend it to anyone. The place is empty on Friday evenings, it’s cheaper than the spa and more effective than counselling. Nature has the answers…
Jericho Beach
Spent the evening down at Jericho Beach with the girls. A cold stout on the patio followed by some crab hunting and bunny watching. This never gets old. They removed the old concrete warf to allow the beach to return which felt really great. We must give back to nature!
