Our Huge Garden

Despite living in Eagle Harbour surrounded by trees and close to the beach, we still love spending a little time at Van Dusen Gardens. Having year round access to this incredible place is such a great thing. It feels like a private club (sans tennis courts) complete with licensed patio and 55 acres of botanical gardens all for about $100/year for the entire family. Every time we go it feels like an investment in well being. Daddy was also shooting some footage of the forgotten Forest Education Centre found within the property. We’re going to be working with Van Dusen and the Parks Board to see if we can come up with a plan to help reignite this incredible facility. Send ideas in the comments section!

Fox Foods at Whytecliff Park

Food in West Van isn’t quite what it is in East Van but we’re cooking more and things are starting to get better this side of Stanley Park. We have a superb young butcher Sebastian & Co. and Temper Pastry with proper coffee with a soon to be liquor license! An interesting addition to the food list is Fox Foods located at Ambleside Beach and Whytecliff Park. Organic meats supplied by our man Sebastian — a limited menu but we’ll take it! It’s a surreal experience eating in the trees while the scuba divers get their gear ready for an afternoon dive!

Lighthouse Park

Just going through some older photos and this series caught my eye. As we approach summer you can feel the chill in these photos taken at Lighthouse Park in December of last year. All seasons are beautiful if you know where to go!
