Chalk Wall

Charlotte’s been enjoying her chalk wall up in the loft. Such a simple idea with huge potential for self expression! We got the idea from Charlotte’s camping buddies Dan & Tan. All it took was a small bucket of chalk board paint and some masking tape. Charlotte might take part in next years East Side Culture Crawl as a resident artist in Strathcona. Lots of fun!

Jellyfish on the Menu

We’re in the midst of some strong winds that have brought all sorts of sea creatures to Waikiki including box jellyfish. We stayed out of the water today but watched sea turtles from our balcony jostle in the waves and kept busy exploring all sorts of exciting food. Friday will be much the same with Saturday returning to ideal conditions when we’ll head back up island for more beach magic. Until then, then.

Record Selector

Charlotte is already picking out her favourite records from the collection. So far she’s leaning towards ‘Italo Disco’ and early House music. I wonder what she’ll be pulling from the shelves when she’s a teenager? What will be ironic then?

Happy 11 Months!

Charlotte is now 11 months old and doing all sorts of fun things. Bum-scooting, table-walking, pointing to various body parts, lots of laughing and new vocal tricks, she really is living life to the fullest. Her one year birthday is just around the corner, now to think of a Halloween costume…

F 1.4

Dad picked up a new lens today and is feeling really good about it (A glass of Pinot Gris has amplified this feeling). What this means for the blog is sharper images in lower light with an even shallower depth of field. Oh joy! These photos have been scaled and compressed for the web, but you can see how clear Charlotte’s lovely big eyes are.
