Camping Galiano

Pitched a tent with some Brits who have a plot of land on Galiano Island this past weekend. A truly unplugged weekend complete with unfinished outhouse! Charlotte loved getting in touch with some precious nature which is what we all really need. Charlotte also had fun with her 6 year old pal Lilly. Is it always summer on Galiano?

Loire Valley

Next we hit the road toward the Loire Valley, famous for it’s farm land and chateaus. We stayed at a converted farm complete with chickens which Charlotte fed each morning. We spent most of the time eating strawberry tarts from the excellent local bakery along with some incredible local brie (unpasturized really is better) and explored Chateaux Chenonceau.

Brittany

Next on the trip was Brittany. We had a beach house for 3 nights and spent most of the time exploring beaches, roasting chickens and searching for fish soup. We checked out the 17th century fishing hamlet Meneham which was an incredible stone village with a superb lunch time bistro operating out of one of the houses.
